TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR ONLINE JOBS APPLICATIONS

This page tells you the terms of use on which you may make use of our website for online job applications at the Local Government Service Commission. Please read these terms of use carefully before you start to use the Website. By using our Website, you indicate that you accept these terms of use and that you agree to abide by them. The Online Jobs Application Service

The Online Jobs Application Service (“the Service”) is only available after the completion of the registration section of the website, including confirmation that these terms and conditions have been read and accepted.

Accessing our Website

The Service is for personal and non-commercial use only.

The Local Government Service Commission (“We”/”Us”) reserve the right to withdraw or amend the Service we provide on our website without notice (see below). We will not be liable if for any reason our website is unavailable at any time or for any period.

From time to time, we may restrict access to some parts of our website, or our entire website, to users.

If you choose, or you are provided with, a user identification code, password or any other piece of information as part of identification/security procedures, you must treat such information as confidential and you must not disclose it to any third party.

When using our website, you must comply with the provisions of the ‘Copyright Notice’, ’Disclaimer’ and ‘Privacy Policy’ of the Government Online Portal which can be accessed at http://www.gov.mu You confirm that you are aware of these provisions and that you will comply with them.

Availability of our Website and the Service

We do not promise full, uninterrupted or error free operation of the website and/or the Service. All liability of the Local Government Service Commission, its members or employees, and the State of Mauritius, howsoever arising for any loss whatsoever arising from your use of or inability to use the website and/or the Service is excluded, insofar as it is possible to do so in law.

Transmission of Applications Electronically

If you do not receive any acknowledgement of your application by e-mail within 10 (ten) minutes after sending it electronically, you should contact us as soon as possible to verify if your electronic application has been received. We shall not have any liability whatsoever if your job application has not been received by us within by the relevant deadline, or where it has been received, but the documents (if any) attached with your application could not be opened/read by it.

Intellectual property rights

The State of Mauritius is the owner or the licensee of all intellectual property rights in our website, and in the materials published on it. All such rights are reserved.

Our Website changes regularly

We aim to update our website regularly and may change the content at any time. If the need arises, we may suspend access to our website or close it indefinitely. Any of the material on our website may be out of date at any given time.

Our liability

The materials displayed on our website are provided without any guarantees, conditions or warranties as to their accuracy. To the extent permitted by law, we and third parties connected to us hereby expressly exclude:

  • All conditions, warranties and other terms which might otherwise be implied by any enactments or by the law of equity.

We process information about you in accordance with the privacy policy applicable for the Government Online Portal at http://www.gov.mu and the Data Protection Act. By using our website, you consent to such processing and you warrant that all data provided by you is accurate.

Uploading material to our Website

Any material you upload in connection with the Service will be considered non-proprietary but confidential. We have the right to disclose your identity to any third party who is claiming that any material posted or uploaded by you to our website constitutes a violation of their intellectual property rights or of their right to privacy.

Viruses, hacking and other offences

You must not misuse our website by knowingly introducing viruses, Trojans, worms, logic bombs or other material which is malicious or technologically harmful. You must not attempt to gain unauthorized access to our website, the server on which our website is stored or any server, computer or database connected to our website. You must not attack our website via a denial-of service attack.

By breaching this provision, you would commit a criminal offence under the laws of Mauritius. We will report any such breach to the relevant law enforcement authorities and we will co-operate with those authorities by disclosing your identity to them. In the event of such a breach, your right to use our website will cease immediately.

We will not be liable for any loss or damage caused by a distributed denial-of-service attack, viruses or other technologically harmful material that may infect your computer equipment, computer programs, data or other propriety material due to your use of our website or on any website linked to it.

Jurisdiction and applicable law

The Mauritius courts will have exclusive jurisdiction over any claim arising from, or related to, a visit to our website although we retain the right to bring proceedings against you for any breach of these conditions in your country of residence or any other relevant country.

These terms of use and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or their subject matter or formation (including non-contractual disputes or claims) shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the law of Mauritius.

 

Guidelines

You need to have a valid email address to use this service.

Please click here for online registration if you are not registered yet. Your login name and password will be emailed to you upon registration.

If you have problems while sending attachments, mail same to lgsc-jobapplication@mail.gov.mu.

The "Unique Registration Number" emailed in your acknowledgement will be used for all future correspondences with the Local Government Service Commission and for tracking the status of your online application.

Main Instructions

1.

Please go through the instructions carefully before filling the application

2.

Incomplete, inadequate or inaccurate filling of the Application Form may cause elimination of a candidate. It is an offence to give information which is false or to conceal any relevant information.

3.

It is very important for the candidate to indicate his National Identity

Number in the space provided at item 2 of the Application Form.

4.

All supporting documents have to be attached.

5.

Qualifications obtained after the closing date for the submission of applications as specified in the advertisement will not be accepted. Only qualified persons should apply.

6.

If a candidate is employed in the Local Government Service, the application form should be completed in duplicate and the duplicate forwarded through his Responsible Officer.
